Our story

CampusTV is the award-winning, student-run television station at the University of Bath Students' Union - the video branch of SU Bath's Student Media. Student-led since 1982, we make campus news, live event streams, comedy, drama and the odd cookery show, run entirely by students, for students.

It traces back to Channel4A in 1982. In 1986, first-year student Hugh Mason took over the society - one old camera, one U-matic recorder - and renamed it CampusTV. The name, and the founding year we still use, 1989, have stuck ever since.

Most recently, we picked up five awards at NaSTA 2024, the National Student Television Association's national awards, including Gold for a documentary on our own history.
